Prompt #1 Seal

To me, architecture gives a spatial identity that connects people to a community or environment.  People are allowed to come together through community events, businesses, or individual homes.  Architecture provides a space for interaction and helps set the tone through the layout and characteristics of space.  I believe that through architecture, we can help boost the morale and sense of community in an area by creating spaces that encourage positive interaction.
Architects have the opportunity to promote change and growth in their communities.  As architects, we can use our ideas to help make our neighborhood a more enjoyable place to live and work so that the survival of the area is ensured.  Not only do we have the chance to make our community more aesthetically pleasing, we can also promote efficiency and safety.  By stepping back and observing the needs of our community and fellow residents, we can make changes that create a positive environment for current and future residents.
" I absolutely believe that architecture is a social activity that has to do with some sort of communication or places of interaction, and that to change the environment is to change the behaviour."- Thom Mayne
