Proposal 5: MID-CITY VILLA  [ back to entries ]

Click here to link to the  [ header template ]  Mid-City Villa was designed with the communities best interest. The concept of Music and A Ripple Effect steered the design. By using the movement of the cliff note, interesting communal spaces were created for the use of the tenants and visitors. The circular design allows for great interaction between neighbors while providing a sense of security through out the complex.

Concept of Music: Music brings a variety of people together, no matter what race they may be. Music can be shown through movement, gestures and interesting curves. Treble Clef being a musical musical notation written on a staff indicating the pitch of the notes to follow it.
Concept of Ripple: A ripple effect is a situation where like the ever expanding ripples across water when an object is dropped into it, a effect from an initial state can be followed outwards incrementally. Depending on the location of the droplet that has been disturbed, the ripple pattern will permeate from that point to its respective extremes until it spreads out and disappears.
Both concepts helped to steer the design by taking details from both and incorporating them into the design and functionality of the building.
